What we cover

Ghana leads. The world follows.

We do not cover everything. We cover what matters to Africans — wherever it happens.

Where we draw the line

No gossip. No rumour dressed as reporting. No “sources say” without a name or a document behind it.

We cover the globe — but a story from Washington, Beijing or Brussels runs here when it touches African lives: commodity prices, migration policy, debt, climate, the diaspora. We cover sport, music and culture, because they are how most people meet a news brand — but a transfer is reported when it is done, not when someone is “in talks”. On faith: religion as a subject of accountability — church finances, political endorsements, land — is fair reporting, under the same two-source rule as everything else. What we will not do is run a sermon and call it journalism.

Our name

The one who freed
the stories

In Akan tradition, all the world's stories were locked away by Nyame, the sky god. Kwaku Ananse paid the price, won them, and released them to humanity.

Before Ananse, there were no stories to tell.

Akan folktales are still called anansesem — Ananse's words. He is the reason ordinary people have stories at all.

That is the job. Take what the powerful keep locked away, and give it to everyone. We are named for the storyteller, not the trick.

How we work

Standards

Anyone can repost a clip. These are the rules that make us an outlet.

1

Two sources minimum

Any claim of wrongdoing requires two independent sources before we publish.

2

Always credited

Third-party footage carries visible on-screen credit. No exceptions, no quiet reposts.

3

Public corrections

Errors are corrected publicly within 24 hours. We never silently delete.

4

No synthetic footage

We never present AI-generated imagery as documentary evidence.

5

Named ownership

Independently owned and operated. No political party or mining interest holds a stake.

6

Source protection

Tips are handled confidentially. We protect identities as a matter of policy.
